How to read this: spot prices come live from a free public feed (gold, silver, platinum, palladium, and copper futures). Premiums are adjustable reference values taken from what online dealers have recently charged for Scottsdale Mint products, because Scottsdale Mint does not publish a fixed premium. Typical references: gold bar about 2.1% over spot; platinum bars about 3–8% and palladium bars about 8–14% over spot, with wide dealer variation; silver 1 oz rounds about 10–11% over spot; 1 oz copper rounds about $5–$9 each at dealers. Estimated retail is an indication only, not a quote. Compare the spot, feed time, and latency on several phones and networks; if two devices show a different feed time, that is the delay we are measuring.

Top 3 ideas for Jared

Idea 1 · Safest to launch

The Copper Club — monthly round + monthly prize drawing

Subscribers get one Scottsdale 1 oz copper round shipped every month (tiers of 1, 5, or 20 rounds). Each month, one drawing awards a silver or gold prize. Every active subscriber is entered automatically, and a free online or mail-in entry is always available, so the prize never depends on payment.

Why it works: recurring revenue from a low-cost product, a prize that makes the subscription feel like a game, and a free-entry path that keeps it a sweepstakes instead of a lottery.

Idea 2 · Strongest brand play

The Alpha Series — your own collectible copper round with a chase variant

Strike a copper round with the Alpha ring design (Jared’s existing coin work can be the starting point). Subscribers receive Series 1, then new designs through the year. A small number of special-finish “chase” rounds are mixed into shipments, and finding one earns a silver or gold prize.

Why it works: it turns a commodity into a collectible only Alpha sells, and the chase creates social-media moments. Check first: hidden-prize mechanics are treated differently from state to state, so this one needs a legal review before any launch.

Idea 3 · Best long-term value

The Copper-to-Gold Ladder — a live “stack value” member dashboard

Members see their stack’s live melt value on a dashboard (powered by the metals board above). Months of membership earn store credit and ladder levels: Copper, then Silver, then Gold. Referrals and activity earn free sweepstakes entries, and members can trade up toward silver and gold products.

Why it works: it teaches customers to graduate from copper to higher-margin silver and gold, and it keeps them coming back to check their stack.

“In the fields of observation, chance favors only the prepared mind.”
