One of our specialities is the prairie diamond. The prairie diamond holds a special place in our hearts as Jared proposed to me with a 16 carat gold prairie diamond. And why a prairie diamond for my wedding ring? We had humble beginnings just like our pioneer ancestors and Jared wanted my ring to be reminder of how we could overcome hard times.
I wanted to share the story of the prairie diamond in remembrance of our pioneer ancestors. The early pioneer settlers had very little luxuries and money was often tight. Young pioneers still feel in love and proposed marriage, even in the midst of hardship. The story goes that a young couple wanted to get married. The father of the young woman hoped to dissuade the young man by insisting that he needed to first furnish a diamond ring. The innovative and determined young man came across a horseshoe nail. And by golly, the head on the nail was shaped just like a diamond. The young man went to the local blacksmith and asked him to bend it into a ring. The story tells how the father was impressed with the young man’s resolve and they marriage went forth.
The prairie diamond is a symbol of perseverance through hardships. They also work great as an engagement ring or as a ring to remind you that you too can get through hard trials, just as our pioneer ancestors did. And guess what! We sell gold and silver prairie diamonds.
